About the Role
As a Legal & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting Emma’s day-to-day legal operations while developing and maintaining our global compliance framework. You will combine hands-on legal work — including contract drafting, review, and legal advice to internal stakeholders — with strategic responsibilities that strengthen our compliance culture and corporate governance systems.
You will work at the intersection of law, business, and governance — ensuring our teams worldwide operate with integrity and in line with applicable laws and internal standards. You’ll collaborate with the Legal & Compliance Team across Frankfurt, Lisbon, Mexico City, and Manila, reporting to our General Counsel. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a world-class compliance culture in a fast-growing international environment.
What You'll Do
- Strengthening key pillars of our compliance framework together with the broader Legal & Compliance Team.
- Drafting, reviewing, and updating key compliance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Tax, P&O, IT, and Operations) to embed compliance, risk, and internal control mechanisms in business processes.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, document controls, and propose mitigation actions.
- Develop and deliver engaging compliance training programs and awareness campaigns across all regions.
- Monitor and report on compliance metrics, including policy lifecycle management, acknowledgment rates, training completion, and repository maintenance.
- Support the Legal & Compliance Team with other ongoing compliance projects and ad hoc regulatory or governance tasks as needed.
- Conduct legal research and give advice to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and review contracts and other legal documents.
Who We Are Looking For
- You have a law degree (mandatory) and 3–5 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, or risk management — ideally in an international organization.
- You have a strong knowledge of EU compliance frameworks, including corporate governance, and risk management.
- You have excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to cross-functional initiatives.
- You communicate clearly and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders — in English (fluency required); German is a plus.
- You are passionate about compliance and believe that clear systems and governance empower rather than constrain innovation.
- You are a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What We Offer
- A hybrid home office policy that allows you to determine which 22 days per quarter you work from home
- A dynamic, international environment with smart, supportive colleagues
- Hybrid work setup with flexibility and autonomy
- Regular team events, learning opportunities, language development opportunities, and a culture that values bold thinking
- And of course: an amazing sleep setup with our Emma products!
