Say ‘hi’ to Emma! If you don’t know us yet — you should! If you look us up, you’d probably think we’re ‘just another direct-to-consumer mattress company’ but let me assure you: Emma is more!
At Emma, there are 3 main visionary drivers that motivate us:
First, we seek to become the #1 sleep brand — globally. And scaling exponentially in the past 5 years, we are well underway to reach this highly ambitious goal, selling our award-winning products (maybe you even slept on an Emma mattress last night?) to customers in more than 30 countries around the globe. Despite the size of our business (405m EUR rev in 2020; =2.7x of 2019!), Emma remained surprisingly small and efficient (just surpassed the 750-employee count globally).
Secondly, we want to improve people’s sleep and believe we are in the perfect position to do so! With the combination of our in-house sleep research team lead by Dr. Verena Senn (neuroscientist) and understanding of the science behind a good night’s sleep, our proven expertise in designing and producing award-winning mattresses, and the endeavors to go beyond that and explore digital and embedded devices / IoT opportunities, we can make people sleep better — one night at a time.
Thirdly and finally, it’s the team! We are a group of people highly enthusiastic and driven because we love our work and the ones we work with. At Emma, you meet incredibly smart, talented, truly agile (and I don’t mean following SCRUM), and entrepreneurial people, with big ambitions — all following one idea: to collectively succeed! No politics, no bullshit! One team, one dream!
So, that’s us. And given our scaling global footprint, high growth ambitions, and upcoming smart product inventions, we are about to level-up our technology platform to a composable commerce architecture.
